Grand Canyon Recovery

Grand Canyon recovery is an Arizona 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization looking for donations from partners interested in sponsoring beds or hosting sober events to help assist men struggling with addiction.

Grand Canyon Recovery believes that recovery starts with personal accountability balanced with freedom, autonomy, and trust. Our facilities provide regular drug testing to ensure compliance with house rules that allow residents to live comfortably day-to-day without constant supervision.

12 step meetings and other therapies are encouraged at Grand Canyon Recovery. Our goal is to teach those that are discovering sobriety the tools and methods to manage their recovery on a daily basis.

Grand Canyon Recovery is looking to transform sobriety in the Phoenix area with a thoughtful, compassionate solution based on real-life experiences with addiction. The new wave of fentanyl has exacerbated the opioid epidemic, and our services focus on helping men discover and maintain sobriety.

Our Mission

Father and son duo Thomas and Nick

Father and son duo Thomas and Nick have co-founded Grand Canyon Recovery to provide the resources, tools, and community they have learned through their own experiences in addiction and recovery to men in the Phoenix area. Thomas was adopted at three weeks old, and his biological son Nick was given up for adoption due to methamphetamine addiction and alcoholism.

On December 18, 2004, Thomas decided to turn his life around and entered a recovery program to overcome his addictions and take control of his life. He is 18 years sober and strives to help those in his community find the path to recovery. Grand Canyon Recovery is the culmination of his own experiences as well as witnessing the damage addiction has done to his hometown of Phoenix, AZ.

Thomas’s son Nick grew up in California and was raised by an amazing family and did not learn about his biological father until his early twenties. Nick also struggled with alcoholism and an addiction to heroin and fentanyl. Nick entered a sober living program and has since remained sober for nearly two years while helping his biological father renovate a property in the Jerome, AZ, community. They reconnected after an anonymous text message brought them together and allowed them to start healing their relationship.

Together they founded Grand Canyon Recovery to help men in their sobriety journey. Their shared experiences in both active addiction and active recovery have allowed them to gain a unique perspective that they hope to share with men on their recovery journey. Nick currently works in a recovery hospital and wants to share his experiences with other men as they discover sobriety and gain access to resources and a sober community based on autonomy and accountability. As the local Phoenix community continues to see the damage caused by the fentanyl epidemic, Grand Canyon Recovery hopes to help mitigate the risks presented by this potent opioid and help men take control of their futures.

Grand Canyon recovery’s sober living facilities are a safe space for men to gain access to the resources and community they need to sustain sobriety.
